Uber is HIGHLY recommended in Mexico City. Typically, an Uber ride around town runs about $1.50 - $3. If you prefer to grab a taxi, you could easily get one from your hotel

La Condesa and Roma are walkable with beautiful parks, tons of restaurants/coffee shops, and great bars. Polanco is the most cosmopolitan/high end neighborhood in the city and another great choice.

In a restaurant, 10-15% is expected. For taxis/Uber, is it not expected unless the driver helps with your luggage (10-20 pesos is fine).
