Our love story began back in 2019, and we had a little help getting it off the ground. Jen was living at home in Warren and was finishing up an accelerated Nursing School Program at Rutgers, and I was living with two friends in an apartment in New Brunswick close by to where I worked. We met through our mutual friend Lucas, who Jen knew from their childhood growing up together in Warren, and who I knew from our time at college together at the University of Delaware. Jen and I had crossed paths intermittently and became friendly over the course of a few months at various social gatherings around the end of 2019 and into 2020. While I struggled to work up the courage to ask Jen on a date and capitalize on the connection I sensed we were forming, she struggled to maintain any free time or social life with her busy and demanding school schedule. Luckily, we had our good friend Lucas play the role of matchmaker for us, when he brought us both out to join him on a cold Friday night in February to a BYOB arcade in Somerville. After a night of drinking lukewarm light beer and battling it out in air hockey, skee-ball, and Mortal Combat, Jen and I could both feel there was something special forming between us. We went on our first real date shortly after that, about 1 week before the world shut down from the Covid-19 pandemic. Our relationship took off from there - the pandemic brought us many movie nights, picnic dates around the Rutgers campus, staycations, and game nights with those in our “bubble”. In the past 5 years since then, our time together has been an amazing adventure, full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. We’ve traveled to some awesome places, moved in together to our first (now second) apartment in Jersey City, and are now planning out this next exciting chapter as husband and wife. We feel so grateful to be surrounded by our friends and family for this special day and can’t wait to see you in Warren in November!
