If you are flying from Australia, Air New Zealand and Latam are the two best companies to fly with to Brazil. Air New Zealand has a better stopover/layover times compared to Latam but both prices for return are under $1300. https://www.latam.com/en_au https://www.airnewzealand.com.au
The cheapest month to buy flights to Brazil is in May. We would suggest to avoid buying your tickets in December, January and February as this is their most expensive season.
We recommend staying in Copacabana and Ipanema as these are the most tourist-friendly areas and close to all the attractions via Uber. Please see our 'Travel' section for hotel and Airbnb recommendations.
We recommend arriving from the 20th of July onwards to give you enough time to get use to the time zone as well as site-see before the wedding. However, it is completely up to you and your travel plans. Please let us know the date of your arrival in Brazil so we may organise accordingly.
YES! To make it easier for everyone, we will be creating a schedule for day trips to all the important tourist attractions, resturants etc. from July 20 - 24. You are more than welcome to join us on these trips or see it solo/ in your own groups. Closer to the date, we will add our site-seeing schedule to the website so watch this space!
Please only use an Uber to get to and from as public transport is not the safest option in Rio. You may use a taxi but we would not recommend this as they will drive around for extra $$$ if they know you are a foreigner.
You do not need a visa to enter Brazil if you are from Australia, USA or the UK. However it is an requirement from the Australian goverment to have your Yellow Fever injection to re-enter the country.
