Paolo and Jess first met at UMBC through FASA. Paolo was a sophomore and still a physics major, while Jess was a freshman and still a pre-med student. When Jess first saw Paolo in his maroon pants and cyan/purple nylon jacket practicing for Semi, she thought he was quirky but cute. At Semi, Paolo asked Jess for a dance, but she said, "No thanks." Over the years, they became friends and even took some classes together, including Intro to Computer Science, Calc 3, and Statistics. Little did they know that when Paolo agreed to take Computer Science with Jess that he figured out his major :) Things took a turn for the better when they were elected as President and Vice President of FASA. Being leaders of the organization, they had to spend a lot of time together. During this time, they got to know each other better and learned they had a lot more in common than they previously thought. Their relationship blossomed, and Jess finally said, "Yes," when Paolo asked her for a dance at Semi 4 years after she first rejected him. They continued to date after graduation, Paolo got a start in his career, and Jess got into PA school. After Jess returned from her 1 month long clinical rotation in South Africa, Paolo with the help of our families asked Jess to marry him on Leap Day 2020. She took the Leap and said, "Yes!" In the time that they have been planning their big day, they became fur-parents to Rosa, bought a house, Jess graduated from PA school and started her dream job as an orthopedic PA, and Paolo has advanced in his career as a software engineer. They can't wait to share in this momentous occasion with you all!
