Maid of Honor
Amanda’s younger sister and an amazing mom to Louisa and Penelope. As children, Amanda and Sydney loved pretend play and were constantly playing dress up and Barbies and had countless “weddings.” They also reenacted many scenes from the Civil War mini-series North and South, arguing over who had to be the bad guys and perfecting their accents. Although they are very similar in some ways, they are very different in others. Sydney recently relocated to Richmond with her family and Amanda misses them terribly! Favorites: spending time with her husband (Kelan) and daughters, coffee, North and South, cooking, wine, traveling, hiking, adaptations of British novels
Maid of Honor
Amanda and Judy met when they lived on 8th Thronson during sophomore year of college at the University of Michigan. Judy soon bestowed upon Amanda the most ridiculous nickname of all time: Nubbins. Although she fought it for many years, Amanda now wears it with pride. They have had many awesome trips around the US and Amanda’s first trip abroad. Judy is one of the only people who understands Amanda’s need to nap and probably the only person on the planet who wouldn’t argue about going back to the hotel to nap on a trip (Judy loves a good nap too). Judy is a brilliant neurologist and is soon moving back to NYC! Favorites: teasing, traveling, Scribe Winery, napping, restaurants, Pride and Prejudice, Hilton Head, her niece Sophie, Michigan football
Bridesmaid
Amanda and Jenny met in 2000 when they both joined the crew team. Besties all through high school and college, they were roommates for the majority of their 20s. A&J are often found wearing the same outfit. Throughout their 20s, they joked about becoming platonic life partners (they enjoy many of the same TV shows, food/wine, and walks together). They each started dating someone special within a few weeks of each other (Mark for Jenny and Sean for Amanda)....then got engaged within a few months of each other...are now planning weddings within a few months of each other. Jenny works for Quest Diagnostics and lives with her fiance Mark and her cat (aka "Cat") in Centreville, Virginia. Favorites: cats, aquariums, Asian cuisine, reality TV, Game of Thrones, travel, wine, online shopping
Bridesmaid
Amanda and Katie also met when they lived together on 8th Thronson their sophomore year at Michigan. They started chatting when Amanda realized Katie went to the same high school as her mom. They had many adventures together during their time at Michigan and have had many visits between Chicago and Arlington since graduation! Each visit includes equal amounts of outings and relaxing at home with magazines. Amanda and Katie are both physically affectionate- do not be surprised to see them playing with each other’s hair or hugging randomly. Katie is an awesome labor and delivery nurse and lives with her adorable daughter Wren and awesome husband Dustin in Chicago. Favorites: spending time with her family, Northern Michigan, summertime, roof tops, Michigan tailgates, boating, cookie dough
Bridesmaid
Lauren D and Amanda met when they started teaching together at Belvedere Elementary School in 2011. Classroom roommates since 2012, it’s hard for Amanda and Lauren to imagine not seeing each other every day (Lauren’s maternity leave was an awful time for Amanda)! They bonded over their love of good food, celebrity gossip, historical day trips (Battlefield or Amish country, anyone?), and many of the ridiculous things that happen in their classroom (being a preschool teacher is not a pretty job). Amanda turns to Lauren when she wants to try a new delicious restaurant or food item. Lauren lives with her husband Ray and son Raymond in Gainesville, Virginia. Favorites: being outdoors with her husband and son, yummy food, music, dance, People Magazine, cooking, audio books, Washington State
Bridesmaid
Lauren G and Amanda first met in their Intro to Special Education class at GMU but didn’t become friends until they started working together at Belvedere in 2011. Lauren moved to Hawaii for an amazing 3 years and Amanda and Lauren D were thrilled when she moved back to Arlington and right into her old job in the Preschool Autism Class (she is amazingly patient and your go-to for any behavior issues). Amanda and Lauren have bonded over sweaty workout classes, trying to cook healthy meals, laughing at ridiculous preschool antics, and life in Arlington. Lauren lives with her husband Pete, their two sons, Chase and Hayes, and their dog Rugby. Favorites: spending time with her 3 boys, lattes, recycling, reading, yoga, Orange Theory, smoothies, baking, Hawaii
