While in town, if you have some free time, please visit our beloved home Old Ellicott City. Old EC offers one-of-a-kind local shops, dining, hiking, and fun local entertainment. One trip here and you will understand why we live on top of the hill! Our favorites include MissFit for a drop in work out (sorry! ladies only), Manor Hill Tavern for slice of pizza, and sweet cascades for a quick rush of sugar. You could also stop at the Old Mill Cafe for a cup of joe and then a walk along the beautiful Patapsco river.
The Savage Mill is a historic cotton mill complex in Savage, Maryland, which has been turned into an indoor complex of shops and restaurants. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It is located in the Savage Mill Historic District. Buildings in the complex date from 1822 to 1916. Savage Mill is only 30 seconds from our wedding venue. Need a quick afternoon bite before the party? Be sure to check out Rams Head Tavern on the bottom floor.
In town for a few days? Greenbelt Metro station is your gateway (and easiest way) to downtown Washington D.C. Take advantage of tons of free museums like the National Gallery of Art (Alex's favorite), top restaurants, and some local sports teams.
Stop up and see Baltimore's iconic waterfront. Check out unique spots like the National Aquarium or take a tour on the Constellation, a historic naval warship (and the place we spent out first New Year's Eve). The Baltimore Orioles will also have home games that weekend, so be sure to pack your orange and black.
