The year was 2019, and I had just moved to Dallas in pursuit of a new career path. Keeping in line with the traditions & customs of being a millennial, I decided to give the dating app "Coffee Meets Bagel" a try. One day as I was scrolling through the app, Yayi suddenly appeared on my screen. A series of cute photos caught my attention, but her bio mentioning her love of travel and inability to cook drew me in. I also had zero culinary skills, so I knew we had something to bond over and immediately messaged her. Going into the first date I was admittedly a bit nervous, but externally I was cool as a cucumber. Luckily for me, a spark was felt on that first date and we agreed to meet again - and the rest is history.

The year was 2019, and on a whim I decided to give a dating app a try - going in with medium expectations at best. One day I saw I had a message from Jeff. First thing he said to me was "I'm worse at cooking" and at that point it was destined that we would be living off Uber Eats. On to the first date, I could tell he was nervous (though he'll say he wasn't); his legs were moving non-stop and through our conversation he drank enough glasses of water to fill a bathtub. Despite that I agreed to a second date, and over the next few meetings we quickly formed a connection. He met my dog Bagel who approved of him, and now here we are!
