It was fall 2016; I had recently moved to Louisville so it was my first weekend here and happened to be his first weekend back in town. A few friends came to visit and wanted to go out for the night. Of course, me being me, it takes hours to get dressed. Finally, we head out thinking it was just going to be another boring night and a waste of an outfit and makeup. We arrive at the location— no doubt my friends instantly have me playing their Wing-Woman. I escape to the restroom when a stranger pulls me by my arm. Very creeped out, I ask “Can I have my arm back?” The guy looks like That’s-So-Raven in the middle of one of her visions then whispers “Jeff is going to love you” before introducing us (it was his friend, less creepy lol). A few lunch dates followed and the rest was history. I am so thankful for that weird encounter and fateful night out. ❤️
Fast forward these years later; It was the eve of Christmas Eve and we were preparing ourselves for our dinner date. We had stockings on the fireplace that I casually filled with gifts day-by-day. I went upstairs to get dressed and noticed my stocking was stuffed with paper that was protruding out. I thought, “oh, he doesn’t want me to peek but I bet he’s looked at his.” So, I stuffed some of the paper in the top of his stocking. Originally, we planned to open our stockings after dinner, but after we were dressed, he insisted that we open them right then. Before I could respond, he was tearing through his, so I sat and anxiously awaited for mine. Finally, I began to shred through all the Christmas paper he had stuffed into my stocking and started to think it was a joke! More and more paper came out, but I kept going. As I reached the bottom of the stocking and the bottom of my nerves, there was a silver lining. I pulled out the end of the paper supply and felt something wrapped inside. IT WAS A RING!!!!! Shocked, excited, anxious, and can’t forget blessed! After I finally calmed from excitement, I said YES, and we were engaged. We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you. See you in Louisville!
