Shortly after arriving to Mackinac Island we started our climb up the 207 steps to the top of Arch Rock. Half way up Jeff had said to me that he felt like his heart was jumping out of his chest, he blamed it on being out of shape. He was looking awfully pale in the face and I asked him a couple times if he was feeling okay. He had told me yes, just tired from the stairs. I walked out onto the walkway over Arch Rock and watched Jeff stand at the beginning of the walkway just looking at me and around at everyone there. He had suggested we take a picture with the beautiful view in the background. I told him to use my phone (it was better then his Iphone) to take the picture but he insisted on using his own. I waited patiently (not really) for him to join my side so we could take the picture. He handed his phone to a gentlemen standing with his wife and requested he "take a picture". As Jeff was joining me by my side he said "First I have a question for you" my response "Really?!" seriously? who says really? LOL At that moment he knelt to one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" I was shocked and stood there staring at the ring and said "YES!!" And then I snatched the ring right out of the box (never gave him a chance to put it on). I gave him a hug and kiss and then let him put the ring on my finger. He had said he was so nervous (which is the real reason he looked so pale earlier, not that he was worn out from the stairs) and slipped the ring on my finger. Little did I know the gentlemen "taking the picture" was actually recording the whole thing. We spent the rest of the day enjoying the island and its beauty.
