We met at the Dust Bowl in Owensboro, KY. For those that don't know what that is, it's a local outdoor basketball tournament with the goal to bring our city together, and well, it did just that for Jeffrey and me! He was sitting on the players side of the court waiting for his game to start and I was sitting on the spectator side with my best friend Hannah Hurt (my Maid of Honor). Jeffrey and Hannah knew each other already, so he texted her and asked who I was, but in a more flirtatious way ;). She gave him my number and the rest is now history!
He had taken me out on a super fancy date so that we could catch up with each other. During this time in the summer, he had been working 2:00am-11:00am and I was working 1:00pm-11:00pm, so our schedules were always conflicting and we didn't get a lot of time to see/talk to each other. When he dropped me off at home after the date, it was roughly 7:00pm and he had told me he needed to get home and go to sleep because he had to work at 2:00am again. When I walked in the house, he actually ran around the house to my back yard where it was all set up and decorated for his proposal. My mom somehow got me out of the back door without me having suspicions where I was greeted with Jeffrey on one knee and all of my family and closest friends gathered around. He couldn't have planned a more perfect night!
