We met one day on a run through Central Park. I, Serena, was leading the crew when Jeff ran up next to me to introduce himself. Over the next few weeks, we spent time getting to know each other — hanging out, surfing at Rockaway Beach, and quickly falling for one another. But for a variety of reasons, we decided to stay friends at that time. Fast forward nine months, and we were both assigned to serve at the UWS Alpha location in Spring 2024. That night, Jeff reached out to ask me on our first proper date… and I didn’t respond for almost three days. I finally — and very excitedly — said yes. One date turned into five, and before we knew it, we were officially dating and having the best time. Two years and countless beautiful memories later, here we are. Our relationship and friendship have been deeply intentional and hard fought for, and we are overwhelmingly grateful to Jesus first and foremost, as well as to the family and friends who have supported, encouraged, and walked with us every step of the way. We truly would not be here without each of you. Our community is a massive part of our story, and we can’t thank you enough for the role you’ve played in this soon-to-be marriage. ♡
