December in Berkeley is typically cool with temperatures ranging from 45–60°F (7–15°C). The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, but we will have mushroom heaters to help keep everyone comfortable. The reception will be indoors. We recommend bringing a warm jacket or wrap.
The money dance is a fun and meaningful tradition in Latino culture! During the reception, guests are invited to share a short dance with the bride or groom in exchange for a small cash gift. It’s a way to wish us well, offer advice, and help us start our new life together. Participation is completely optional, but we’d love to share a moment with you on the dance floor if you’d like to join!
The Brazilian Room is nestled in Tilden Regional Park, accessible via winding roads through the Berkeley Hills. For those driving from the Peninsula, the most straightforward route is: Take the University Avenue exit from I-80 in Berkeley. Follow University Avenue east to Oxford Street. Turn left on Oxford, then right on Rose Street. Turn left on Spruce Street, which becomes Wildcat Canyon Road. Continue for about 2 miles; the Brazilian Room will be on your left.
