We met almost a decade ago, two teenagers in the same college orientation group. We've grown and changed a lot since then, but our connection was instant. For the last 9 years, we've shared so much life - so many laughs, tears, small apartments, cheap bottles of wine, and long late night talks. So many hikes, so many flat bike tires, so many airport coffees and nearly-missed flights. 

We've made our way through several years of long-distance love across continents. We've cultivated each others' passions and pushed through two PhD's. We've toasted to each others' futures as we've followed new opportunities, and we've leaned on each other on cloudy days. We've shared love with a dog who adopted us. We've stood by each other through the loss of loved ones, cheered each other on from many sidelines, and gotten to know each other more deeply than we ever thought possible. 

The "us" that we have is worth far more than the sum of our individual selves, and we are so grateful for this love.
