How We Met

March 2012

Although we attended the same high school, and strangely had the same group of friends, we never remember meeting each other. In high school, our best friends had dated one another. Unknowingly, these two friends each invited us to a night out, and the four of us ended up at the same location. Upon reconnecting our best friends... we were ditched. Left in an awkward situation, we introduced ourselves. We ended up talking for hours, and even excused ourselves to take a walk outside. Little did our friends know, when they returned from their mini-date, a romance of its own had begun. With phone numbers exchanged, we began texting immediately. In the week that followed, we met every night, continuing our conversations that included our dreams, hopes, futures, likes, dislikes, family, and everything in-between. A month later, in April, we became Boyfriend/Girlfriend, and we've been inseparable ever since. I say that I knew Jeff was the one in that first week.... a week full of laughter, real-connection, flower-brought dates, and dates being followed home in the snow by a boy who wanted to make sure I got home safely. Jeff says he knew I was the one, from the first time he told me that he loved me.... a phrase that neither of us promised to say until we fully meant it. For the longest time, "Agape" was our byword. Six years later, this selfless, sacrificial, unconditional, and Biblical love is what we've built our relationship on, and what we hope to celebrate with you, in our new journey as Man and Wife.

The Proposal

March 2018

We’ve talked about marriage for years, as we’ve always known we were meant to be together forever. “So why don’t you just get married?” People would always ask. I was 19 years old when I met Jeff, and he was 20. After several hurtful past relationships for both of us, we always wanted to take things slowly. There were many personal reasons why we waited- age, stability, and my desire to travel, being the main ones. But in August of 2017, things shifted. After 5 years of living together, 6 total job changes, 5 moves, 2 deaths, multiple births, and 2 major injuries, we realized we had been living vows we had never spoken. God began to call our hearts to marriage, back to each other, and back to His design for our relationship. Our hope and prayer is for other couples to experience the kind of grace, love, and forgiveness that has been offered to us, that we choose to offer each other every day. On March 8th, 2018, amidst more trials in our life, in an intimate setting, and a moment shared with just the two of us, Jeff asked me to marry him. And I said yes! We are in love with our love story, and we can’t wait to share this promise with our families, and celebrate it with our friends!
