What is included at the resort?

Answer

Just about everything! Airport transfers, food & beverages (including 24 hour room service) are all included in your room price! Gratuities are also included, but we encourage our guests to bring some small bills to tip for great service, see tipping FAQ question for more info on tipping. The ONLY things not included are upgraded wine, spa treatments and excursions.

What airport do I fly into?

Answer

The resort is located 25 minutes south of the Cancun International Airport CUN. Your airport transfer is included with the room.

How do I book my included airport transfer?

Answer

If you have not already submitted your flight information, please either submit via the Seasons website (Link is under Travel section) or you can text me directly. Provide your ERC confirmation number, name, arrival date, time and flight number along with your departure flight information. You should receive an email from them confirming your pick up at the airport with instructions to avoid the scammers. As for departures – Seasons Transportation is still making people get picked up 4 hours prior to flight time and signing a waiver if you choose to leave later. Most people are reporting that it is only taking about an hour to get to the airport but this will likely depend on your departure day and time. I have sent an email with full instructions on the airport transfer.

What is the resort dinner dress code?

Answer

For all restaurants during dinner, except the buffet, there is a dress code of "Dinner regular casual". Chez Isabelle does require pants for men. For Ladies: Long pants, Capri pants, skirt and blouse, or dress. For Gentlemen: Shorts, Bermudas, Capri or long pants. Dress shirt, collarless shirt, or polo shirt. Casual shoes or elegant sandals must be worn. Sleeveless t-shirts, tank tops, beach sandals, or flip flops are not allowed.

What is the Excellence Club?

Answer

The resort offers two room levels. Regular and Excellence Club. Excellence Club guests have access to additional perks such as: private pool, beach and club area; upgraded minibar, room service menu and room amenities; private concierge service; and one hydrotherapy session per guest. The excellence club private pool is the only heated pool on premises. For full list of Excellence Club perks visit the resort website.

What is the wedding dress code?

Semi formal resort chic. Think of a blend of elegance and relaxed sophistication, with light, breezy fabrics and a focus on comfortable, stylish attire. For Women: • Dresses & Gowns: Long, flowy maxi dresses or elegant gowns in lightweight fabrics like silk, chiffon, or linen. Bold colors, tropical prints, soft pastels, or classic neutrals are perfect. • Dressy Jumpsuits: A sleek, tailored jumpsuit can be a stylish alternative to a dress. • Shoes: Strappy heels, wedges, or dressy sandals (avoid stilettos there will be sand). For Men: • Suits: A lightweight linen or cotton suit in classic colors like beige, light gray, navy, or white. Darker suits can work for evening weddings. • Shirts: A crisp button-down (long-sleeved) in linen or cotton, preferably in a neutral or soft color. • Pants: Dress pants or tailored linen trousers (no shorts). • Shoes: Loafers, dressy sandals, or polished espadrilles (no flip-flops or sneakers). • Optional: A tie or bow tie is not required but can be worn for a more formal touch.

Do I need reservations for the resort's restaurants?

Answer

No, the only restaurant that requires reservations is the Spice Restaurant's Teppanyaki Hibachi experience. Reservations can be made via the Guest Experience Team at the resort. Most restaurant hours for dinner are 5pm-10pm, not all restaurants are open every day. There are schedules and menus are available in the Excellence Resort App. We recommend avoiding the 6:30-8pm time if you don't want to wait for a table. But then again, grabbing a drink at one of the many bars and lounging by the water, while you wait doesn't sound too bad?

What are my dining options at the resort?

There are multiple restaurants to choose from, an international buffet, Mexican, Indian, Italian, French, asian, or steakhouse. Please note the Magna and Lobster House will not be open. 24 hour service is available for all room types. Order right from the excellence app!

Should I download the Excellence Resort App?

Answer

Yes, the Excellence Resorts app is available on android and apple through the App Store. You can link your reservation to it, when it's closer to check in. You can explore all the resort has to offer including: dining options; order room service; spa services information; entertainment schedule and more. The menus for all restaurants are on the app. Apparently you can get a physical menu but only upon request. When you open the app (prior to check-in) just hit cancel and you can see everything. Apparently there is a “pillow menu” as well!!!

Tipping??

Answer

First and foremost, tipping is not required at the Excellence Riviera Cancun. Everyone should do what they are most comfortable with – the staff are amazing and you will have good service regardless. But here are some general guidelines for tipping if you choose to do so. You can tip in pesos or USD. I have confirmed with the wedding coordinator that the staff prefer USD. However, if you want to tip in USD, you need to bring lots of 1s and 5s. You can only get smaller bills if a bartender or server is willing to break a $20 for you. You can easily exchange USD for pesos at the front desk if you do not want to travel with a stack of small bills.
