We had lived in the same area growing up went to the same high school and all but we never “knew” each other. Laney started college and was working at a nursing home, Hillcrest Commons. One night Laney went out for break with her co workers around 10pm, there Jeff was riding up on the property with a “bird” scooter. One of Laney’s coworkers hoped on the back with him and had a blast, they all insisted she get on with Jeff and have some fun. So after she contemplated because he was a stranger to her at that time, a cute one at that, she got on. Jeff then said “trust me and hold on to me.” We rode around had a blast laughed and smiled. We exchanged names and he eventually found her socials and that’s when our journey began, granted we didn’t go on our first date til a year after we first met. When we finally did everything just clicked for us and we grew a stronger and stronger bond as time went on. We stayed friends for a little while at first when we first started going on dates. Then eventually Jeff took Laney up to a lookout spot on October Mountain and made her a cute basket, with flowers, a hand written note, and a sign that said “Will you be mine?”. Of course Laney said yes and was filled with nothing but joy and happiness. We continued to date and grow our relationship. We finally went on our first vacation after 5 months of dating and took a trip to Florida together with Laney’s parents. Little did she know she was going to leave the vacation with a ring on her finger. One night early in the trip me, him, and my parents went out and had dinner at some seaside restaurant at Coco Beach. We then all took a walk onto the sand and took in the beautiful view and hearing the ocean waves crash. Laney and Jeff went to go get a picture together and then he told her to look up at the sky away from him and all she thought to herself was “what am i looking at?” Then Laney felt his hand touch the side of her hip and she turned around. There he was on one knee asking to marry Laney… oh how all her dreams came true that night. That night will forever be our favorite memory. But now we create a new one, a new beginning to us.
