At a young age, I had harbored dreams of starting a family. Despite my reluctance towards dating apps, I took the leap of faith and created a profile on Shaadi.com with the consent of my parents. Amidst the sea of profiles, one particular one caught my eye: Jeffin Thomas from Maryland, USA. With my parents' encouragement, I swiped right, and little did I know, it was the best decision I'd ever made. From our very first conversation, Jeffin's charming smile and warm personality captivated me. Despite my reservations and guarded nature, Jeffin's unwavering love and understanding broke down my walls effortlessly. As our conversations flowed seamlessly, it became evident that we shared a deep connection and similar values. Months passed with countless calls. First I met his sister through a very nervous phone call. Our parents then connected. I met his friends. And finally, he came to visit me in Kerala and we shared the most beautiful memories! Despite the distance between us, our bond only grew stronger with each passing day. Jeffin's unwavering support for my dreams and passions became increasingly evident, solidifying my belief that he was the one I had been searching for. We are eternally grateful for the love and support of our families and friends throughout our journey. As we embark on this new chapter together, we eagerly anticipate celebrating our love and commitment with all of you in the near future.
Once I had returned from India after meeting Catherine for the first time, I knew then, I was ready to propose. When I came home for Thanksgiving, my sister and I drove to DC to find the perfect ring for my perfect girl. After looking at multiple rings, nothing was catching my eye. The consultant then pulled out a ring that I immediately loved and I knew represented how I felt about her. I started looking at a few places as a potential spot to propose. I knew I wanted all of mine and her family there with us. We planned a "family dinner" at Rythym Resorts in Kumarakom but I would propose to her right before. I saw pictures of a beautiful gazebo that looked over an infinity pool that led to the backwaters of Kerala. 2 days before the proposal, I asked her dad, mom, brother, and sister (officially) for her hand in marriage. Not only to be her husband but to be their son. They joyously agreed and gave me their blessing! On the day of the proposal, I told Cathy that I'd like to take her to lunch before our family dinner and we could let our siblings go out for lunch to let them get to know each other well too. She agreed! We also agreed to take some pictures before our family dinner and change into our Indian attire to give us an excuse to dress up! As we approached the resort, I had my sister call us and tell us there was a surprise waiting for us at the gazebo. She approached my car and told me to go see what the surprise is but had Cathy wait by the car and brought her with her eyes closed. Cathy had thought that my friends from USA were here to surprise us. As I stood there, waiting for her to approach me, I had all the nerves. I had no idea what to say or how to ask. My mind went blank. The second she took her hands off her eyes and I saw her surprised face and her smile, everything fell into place. She walked up to the gazebo. I asked her to marry me and she said "YES YES YES"
