Lisa and Monika met at Prairie View A&M in the engineering computer lab during the summer before freshman year. The connection was immediate and the two were fused in friendship through study groups, campus jobs, student organization leadership, personal growth, and finally as line sisters in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (a dream they shared as freshmen). For the past 28 years that bond has been forged many times over in the celebrations and trials of life, ensuring abundant and unwavering sisterly love and trust forevermore.

Allison and Monika first met in the mid-90s in Inroads, both of them as young energetic interns. They formed a genuine friendship that blossomed into a sisterhood as sorors of Delta Sigma Theta. Over the years they've shared many experiences from working together at Accenture to serving together in church. This experience and celebration of Monika and Jeff's love for each other will undoubtedly be one that Allison will cherish forever. She is so proud and excited to share in this moment with Monika.

Monika and Tamar met at Prairie View A&M University, both as engineering majors that were laser-focused. We later pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc together. Our sisterhood has been one of trust, commitment, joy, and encouragement over the years. I am looking forward to continuing this journey called life together.

Dameshia met Monika at Prairie View A&M University through their mutual affiliation with the National Society of Black Engineers. Monika has always been a mild-mannered, kind, and fun-loving person to be around. After completing our undergraduate degrees we both eventually joined the same consulting firm. We have remained friends/sisters and even business partners through all that life has brought our way. During the last few years, I have also developed a friendship with Jeff and found him to be a delight to know and a man who honors God and Monika. I'm so happy that Monika and Jeff have found each other. I love them dearly and I'm honored to share this life moment with them.

Tonya and Monika met when Monika was a resident advisor in Tonya's freshman dorm. They were both Chemical Engineering majors and also ran into each other in the computer labs and common areas of the engineering buildings. Because of Monika's huge heart and bossy ways, she could not help but give Tonya advice and tips on her progression as a student and even career advice. They both worked at the same company after graduation, lived in the same condominium complex for years, and have been like sisters ever since!

Ify and Monika met in law school as an unlikely pair - Monika with her multiple engineering degrees and fondness for building black excellence and Ify fresh off of two years of teaching with a fondness for convincing people to do things they didn't think they would do. Monika and Ify became fast friends, traveling the ups and downs of law school, new careers, marriage, births, natural disasters, celebrations, and loss -- all of it filled with laughter, sisterhood, and joy. Monika is the bold and beautiful big sister she always wanted; Ify is honored and proud to spend this special day with Monika.
