It was a Thursday. Jefferson was sitting in the parking lot of a restaurant when he swiped right on Marissa’s Hinge profile — a simple moment that would change both of our lives. After exchanging a few messages, Jefferson offered Marissa his phone number to which Marissa kindly requested to meet in person in lieu of a phone date. Efficiency. We met at a cocktail bar in the Houston neighborhood of the Heights. Marissa only had plans to stay for the length of one glass of Prosecco - 45 minutes, max. But once we started talking, time disappeared. Four hours later, we were still deep in conversation, connecting over our shared love for family, our faith, and the dreams we had for our lives. That night, something just clicked. On December 14, 2024, Jefferson proposed in the very place where it all began: Bandista, our favorite speakeasy where we first made our relationship official months after meeting— surrounded by the memories of where our story began, and the promise of everything still to come. We are overjoyed to have found one another and are deeply grateful for God’s divine covering over us as we enter into the next season of our lives together.
