Question

Chateau what?

Answer

Sentout = 'Sahn-Tew' Like most French words, the last letter is not pronounced. And definitely not "Sent Out"! Rhymes with 'Ron Blue'

Question

What are the entry requirements for U.S. visitors to France?

Answer

Passport required? YES - and if your passport will expire within 3-6 months of the trip, you should renew it now! Visa required? NO - not for stays under 90 days Are there COVID vaccination or testing requirements? NO, not at this time but check frequently. (https://fr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/)

Question

What costs are covered? What expenses am I responsible for?

Answer

LODGINGS: The lodgings are on us! Just get yourself there. :-) MEALS: 1. All planned meals at the Chateau are already covered 2. Feel free to stock up and prepare food in the guest kitchens 3. Meals off-site, such as during the Bordeaux city visit or winery tour, are on your own. 4. The rehearsal dinner Sunday night at Le Gabriel restaurant is a prix-fixe menu. If you would like to contribute to the cost of the evening, we suggest $50 per person, but not necessary. Supplemental items (e.g., additional wine) can be added at your own expense. TRANSORTATION - TBD

Question

Will I need an electrical adaptor and/or converter for France?

Answer

ADAPTER - Yes! The electrical outlets in France consist of two round pegs inside a circular plug-in. You will definitely need an adapter to plug in U.S.-based devices. These are inexpensive and readily available on Amazon.com and in most travel sections of stores CONVERTER - Probably not, but depends. Keep in mind that France (like most European countries) operates on 240V versus 120V here in the U.S. The good news is that most electrical devices are dual voltage (laptops, mobile phones, tablets, cameras) and do NOT require a converter. However, there are a few exceptions, namely hair dryers and curling irons, that definitely NEED a converter - unless you want a "shocking" experience! Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

August is the hottest month in southern France. :-( Average temperature is 82F / 28C, although the heat wave of 2022 saw temps much higher than that...so pack accordingly.

Question

What if I don't speak French?

Answer

No problem, many of our guests from the U.S. don't. Most items will be bilingual - from menus to the ceremony itself. Not all of Dominique's family and friends are fluent in English, but enough people are to help translate as needed.

Question

Will there be meatless options for all meals?

Answer

We will do our best to accommodate non-meat eaters

Question

Will there be non-alcoholic options

Answer

No...this is wine country and you be forced to drink it. KIDDING!
