Our story begins in May of 2022. Tessa’s client asked her “are you single and can I set you up with a nice Jewish boy from Long Island?” Simultaneously, Jeff’s mom asked him, “can I set you up with the real estate agent selling the rabbi’s home?” Both agreed to be set up… but were never given each other's phone numbers. Fast forward a couple of weeks, Jeff stumbled upon Tessa’s profile on Hinge. He messaged her: “Small world, I think our mutual friend tried to set us up.” Before long, they had a date scheduled for June 10th at The Belfry, a cocktail bar in the East Village. For five hours, they sat in the corner of the bar, playing 20 questions, laughing over the surprising similarities between their families, and already planning their second date. By the end of the evening, they both knew something incredibly special had happened. As soon as they parted ways, Tessa sent a voice memo to a friend, asking, “Is that the last first date I’ll ever go on?”
