Maine Tasting Center
In the tasting room, a brewpub-style space with indoor and outdoor seating, visitors can enjoy Maine beer, wine, cider, kombucha, and a small selection of small plates that highlight ingredients from Maine farmers and producers. Visitors can also browse the retail shop and enjoy evening entertainment and music in the tasting room.
Fall Foliage Festival
The Fall Foliage Festival has been a family tradition in Mid Coast Maine for the past 52 years! We are excited to host the 53rd Annual in 2020 as the State of Maine celebrates its 200th birthday! In addition to the traditional event favorites; dozens of vendor booths, fabulous entertainment and live music, delicious Fall foods, live artist exhibits and a children’s corner, we are planning a few new activities to celebrate and honor 200 years of statehood in Maine.
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
Nationally award winning botanical garden open daily May 1 - Oct 17. Boothbay Harbor is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the MidCoast Maine region. This natural beauty is on display at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Guardians of the Seeds, Giant Trolls Exhibit: Danish artist Thomas Dambo’s magical, mysterious, and mammoth recycled-wood sculptures will anchor our efforts.
Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta
The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta is a mid-coast Maine favorite. Happening over Columbus Day weekend, you’ll find a host of events for the whole family. Each year, local Maine artists more than meet the challenge of decorating dozens of “Atlantic Giant” pumpkins that are displayed in downtown Damariscotta & Newcastle during Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta. Start the weekend off with the official “Giant Pumpkin Parade” followed by lots of fun events like the Pumpkin Debry, Pumpkin Catapult, and Pumpkin Regatta. Watch while people race their pumpkin boats down the river for the coveted “Golden Gourd” trophy.
Boothbay Craft Brewery, Taphouse & RV
A premier craft beer garden and Taphouse serving wood-fired pizzas, fresh smoked BBQ and cozy outdoor space is open for all!

A great spot across from the Kennebec River in Richmond for breakfast and lunch, which has some wonderful architecture and a great history.

Whaleback Shell Midden State Historic Site
11 acres of trails overlooking the river. This historic site right on the river, just beyond a huge apple orchard, is a secret local favorite. Very close to Damariscotta for shopping and snacks.
Split Rock Distilling
Split Rock Distilling is Maine's 1st and only certified organic distillery! Tasting Room and Distillery open daily, with tours, tastings and bottle sales. Producing Gin, Vodka, Whiskey, Bourbon and Simple Syrups from scratch in our little red barn on coastal Route 1.
Damariscotta River Cruises
Sample Damariscotta River oysters as you cruise past the farms they were harvested from, and pair them with sensational wines, bubblies, sake, or varieties of beer.
Tandem Glass Gallery & Studio
A working hand blown glass studio and gallery. A great opportunity to see into the creative lives and process of two glass artists. Unique contemporary work. And literally right around the corner from the house!
The Old Goat
Beautiful old building in Richmond's quiet downtown. Good range of beers, hot panini sandwiches, and a regular crowd of locals. Check their website for live music.
Oxbow Brewing Company
Amazing beer brewed onsite with a back country tasting room. Sometimes they sell snacks (local cheese), but many folks bring their own snacks and sample beer. Friday nights They have free live music, bonfire and a food truck.
Little Village Bistro
A great little restaurant that is only about 10 minutes away... cozy atmosphere and quality dining in Wiscasset! Nice cocktails too!
Flight Deck Brewing
Downeast Mag dubbed Flight Deck "Maine's best tasting room" & it is fun with a fantastic selection of beer and occasional fresh food (BYOF is allowed) to go with. They re-purposed the old shooting range on the now decommissioned Navy base into their tasting room.
Savage Oakes Vineyard and Winery
45 minutes from our wedding location, this vineyard recently got written up in Portland Press Herald for booking major music talent from Graham Nash to Lyle Lovett. Union is small, rural and very beautiful situated close to Rockland. Their wine is good too! They grow the largest proportion of their own grapes for the wine of any Maine vineyard. A great backroads drive through interesting little towns and scenic country.

Brewpub with live music, a trivia game night, good food this is a great place to grab a snack and a beer after checking out Hallowell

Great State Park with white sand. Down the road, you will find an Civil War era fort.
L.L.Bean Village Shopping
The LL Bean flagship store is in Freeport, Maine (about 35 minutes away). Located in Freeport Village, there are many other stores and restaurants in a walker friendly shopping district.
Sheepscot Links Golf Course
Located on the Sheepscot River The course has a slope of 66.4 and rating of 116 if you're into this sorta thing. It features three water holes, four sets of tees, a 550yd par 5, and greens that average over 4000 square feet.
