They first met on the terrace at William & Mary during the 2010 Stanley Cup playoffs. Sarah and Jeff were both rocking their home team jerseys and struck up a conversation about that evening's game and Mike Green's defensive shortcomings. A mutual friend connected them over text and they remotely suffered through another devastating Washington Capitals loss. After the Caps exited the playoffs, Saran and Jeff let the relationship fall dormant but remained unknowingly saved in each other's phones as "Caps Chick" and "Jeff Caps Kid." Fast forward to 2012: the Capitals still hadn't won a Stanley Cup, and Sarah and Jeff hadn't talked since that night. But as undergraduate seniors, they found themselves in the same classes. Every day. Both semesters. Jeff knew Sarah was the lady for him and made it known. They spent their first date at a sushi restaurant in Williamsburg, VA and many more at college parties and the town's three delis. After moving to Washington, DC, their romance continued. They discovered their love for mornings and sought out the best breakfast spots from Columbia Heights to Capitol Hill. Their collection of cookware grew after they moved into a Logan Circle apartment together and began to host dinner parties with friends and family. They watched the Caps (lose) at the Verizon Center and Stoney's on P Street. Perhaps most importantly, they found in each other a perfect travel partner, visiting 12 states and 9 countries. In spring 2018 when Jeff was admitted to business school in Boston, he knew wanted to land the catch before leaving town for two years. He hoped to pop the question on trip to Asheville, NC, but was stifled by travel delays. When they returned home at the end of that weekend, Sarah and Jeff sat down to watch the Caps play with enough Chinese food for five and champagne. During intermission, he popped the question - the rest is history. P.S. The Caps won it all in 2018, weeks after Sarah & Jeff got engaged. Coincidence? We think not.
