The rehearsal dinner and actual wedding are taking place on Sunday, June 2 and Monday, June 3. That said, we (and our families) are making a vacation out of this and arriving on Wednesday, May 29! We expect most guests will be arriving on Friday or Saturday.
Jeff's grandparents on his mother's side (affectionately known as Mimi and Didi Brownstein) began spending winters in Marco Island, Florida in the 80's. The Munns spent Christmas vacations down there for 20+ years, where Didi's charisma and charity made him the beloved "Mr. B" in the community. An amazing example of a long and loving relationship, Mimi and Didi made Marco Island a place that will always hold a special place in our hearts. On Sunday, we will all be going to the very same beach where Kim and Jeff would build sandcastles with Mimi and collect seashells with Didi that he would later turn into art to be sold in his shop back in Clarksdale, Mississippi. There we'll enjoy the private beach at the Marriott as well as kayaking, bocce ball, cornhole, and lots of other fun activities before going to Quinn's for dinner. But Marco is bit pricey these days, and the nearby town of Fort Myers had the vibe and price tag a little more aligned with our style for the actual wedding.
We jokingly call this our "wedding crawl" or a "progressive wedding". Basically, there are a bunch of awesome spots on the same block in downtown Fort Myers, and we're going to hit them all! Don't worry, they're very close to each other, and walking shouldn't be too tedious or strenuous. We'll start with a cocktail hour at Social House, or "Soho". Then we'll head next door to Twisted Vine for the ceremony. Next, we'll head inside for dinner and a little dancing at the Barrel Room. Finally, when we're good and warmed up, we'll take a 4-minute sing-along walk to Hotel Indigo and dance the night away on the roof, overlooking the city with a sunset backdrop until the stars start dancing with us too! For those of you staying at the Hotel Indigo, this means easy check-ins with the little ones and a short stumble to bed at the end of the night.
Only when you have to!
If this wasn't our wedding, we'd be asking it too. Before we go any further... we want you to be comfortable. That's right - comfort is key (and Florida in June is warm.) Beach Chic Attire is defined by this fru fru website as, "This means you should “dress to impress,” but consider the environment when you select your outfit. If it’s “beach chic,” sandals and other open-toe style shoes are acceptable." TLDR; if you have questions, give us a call or text. We love you and will give you (possibly terrible) fashion advice.
