Parking is *extremely* limited at our venue! To accommodate, we have reserved the parking lot at the NE corner of 28th and Steele and will have a shuttle going to and from the venue. Pick-ups will be at 2:00pm, 2:20pm, and 2:40pm. If you arrive after the third shuttle, the parking lot is about 1/2 mile from the venue. Rideshares/taxis are also a great option to arrive directly at the park. We will have three return shuttles at 7:00pm, 7:45pm, and 8:30pm leaving from the park entrance (same place as drop-off). Here is the route from the reserved parking area to the venue entrance: https://maps.app.goo.gl/vJzzfNzHbt2NQrPC6
Between 2:00 - 2:35pm, ideally! We would love to see you at the welcome mingle before the ceremony. Arriving during this window not only ensures that you have plenty of time for transportation (see: "where should I park?"), but it will also allow time for you to enjoy and explore the garden prior to the ceremony beginning at 3:00.
Garden Attire: Floral prints, and fun colors are encouraged; sunscreen is required--we want you to be comfortable! Sundresses, casual/fun cocktail dresses/jumpers, collared shirts with fun patterns (floral, gingham, seersucker, etc!), with coats/tie *very* optional given the heat. Please check the forecast before getting dressed. Did we mention: wear sunscreen? The ceremony, reception, and dancing will be held on a large, level, park lawn; please wear comfortable, low shoes to avoid mishaps on the grass!
The wedding ceremony and reception will be at the same location at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden and fully outdoors. We will have sun umbrellas and tree shade for a good portion of the event, but please wear sunscreen and plan your attire accordingly so you're comfortable!
At this point, our RSVP window has closed and we've turned in our final counts to our vendors. If you need to change your status, please let us know via text. We'll miss you!
There will be hydration stations, alcoholic & non-alcoholic selections, passed appetizers, full dinner, and a dessert surprise. We love yummy things and can't wait to enjoy them with you!
Your invitation and digital RSVP will indicate who is included as part of your party, including plus ones or additional family members. Our venue has seating limitations which means we are, sadly, unable to accommodate additional guests that aren't indicated on your invitation. We look forward to celebrating with you.
We love kids and wish we could have them all with us! A small number of children will be present at the event, but we unfortunately cannot accommodate the children of all guests. Please refer to your invitation or the RSVP tab to view who is included in your party. If your child is under eighteen months old, you are welcome to bring them with you.
Yes, though the ceremony and reception will be on short grass. If you or someone in your party has mobility limitations, please let us know in your RSVP so we can make sure you're as comfortable as possible. No, thank you! We have a fabulous photographer and videographer capturing the events of the day, including the ceremony. We ask that you turn your ringers off and refrain from taking any pictures or video during the unplugged ceremony. However, you are more than welcome to take copious photos and videos for the rest of the day! Look for the QR codes posted at the reception so you can share all of your photos and videos with us before you go.
We kindly ask that you do not share any photos on social media of our wedding until we've had the chance to do so first. We are also cognizant that there will be minors present and want to respect the privacy wishes of their guardians. Thank you!
~8:30PM. We will do our best to maximize the time we have together! The day will start at 2:00PM with a welcome mingle before the ceremony to give time for guests to arrive, explore the garden, and say hello. The ceremony will start promptly at 3:00PM with a cocktail hour with light bites to follow. Dinner will begin by ~5:00PM with reception, dancing, and dessert until the sun goes down. We will likely wrap things up around 8:30PM to accommodate the (required) park closing hours.
Your options in Portland are endless...and we would recommend an Airbnb option close to the wedding venue for ease of travel. If you're looking for a location that is equidistant between our home and the venue, the Sellwood neighborhood is fairly central to both. If you have questions about where to stay in Portland, please contact Rachel.
Portland is known for its summers. We live for the summers. That said, there's a tendency for it to be quite warm (albeit not humid or buggy), so please check the forecast leading up to the big day. The historic average on our date is 83.1 degrees; we've seen predictions between mid 80's to low 90's. The sun will set at 8:28pm. The moon will be a waxing crescent.
