How We Met

It was Chemistry

This class is hard, Peggy thought as she tried to understand the perplexing chemical structures scribbled across a gigantic white board that spanned across the classroom wall. It was barely the first week of class at UOP. I must get some good study buddies to help me through this class if I'm going to pass, Peggy thought. She looked across the room. The class room was filled with a sea of confused faces, trying to focus. Well at least I'm not the only one who thinks this class is hard, she thought. Suddenly, one student caught Peggy's attention. There he sat, body slouching against his chair, doodling pictures on his notebook, looking extremely bored. Apparently, he had learned all this at his high school. Yes! New study buddy! That was Jeff.

The Proposal

Everything went wrong or so he says...

We were on our Spring Break trip to Jacksonville Beach, FL. Little did Peggy know, Jeff had been planning for this moment months in advance. After dinner and a leisurely stroll during sunset on the beach, the pair returned to their beach front hotel room. Jeff came into the room excitedly while holding several gift bags, "Guess what? I was super lucky at my dental meeting and won all these cool prizes! Did you want to open them with me?" Peggy replied, "Sure!" The pair opened the first bag. It was a Sonicare toothbrush. Peggy exclaimed, "Wow! That's such a great prize! I feel bad to ask, but can I keep it?" Jeff replied, "Of course! I have one already anyways." Jeff grabbed the second prize bag. It was a vintage leather Polaroid camera, complete with extra Polaroid film. "Wow! This is perfect for our Disney World visit in a few days! You sure won some pretty awesome prizes at your dental meeting." Third bag: a blue t-shirt with a picture of a bear. On it, the words read: what do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear! "Haha that's a funny t-shirt," Peggy laughed, "but, why did they give you such a small t-shirt? It's like the perfect size for me, not you." Jeff replied, "Oh, they were all random sizes.........." Jeff grabbed the fourth bag. It was a personalized calendar of pictures throughout their relationship, from first dates to trips and holidays. Tears began to flow from Peggy's eyes. "Wait, I have one more gift," Jeff said as he pulled out a small grand piano pop up card. Peggy grabbed the card and flipped the card up down and sideways trying to make the small grand piano to stay popped up on the card. Jeff nervously exclaimed, "Stop fusing with the card! Just read it!" Peggy read the card and flipped to the back. Jeff had taped the ring to the bottom of the baby piano. Peggy looked up at Jeff, who was already on one knee, "Will you marry me?"
