Hinge did its thing… and somehow gave us our forever. We’re a Hinge success story and somehow, against all odds, the app got the distance just right. Even though we technically lived far from each other, we both happened to be at work on the same day, met the distance requirement, and boom a match. Proof that timing, location services, and a little fate were all working overtime. Our first date was at Old Hickory Steakhouse in National Harbor, and we had such a great time that we literally closed the restaurant. From that night on, we kept choosing each other, coordinating busy schedules, kids, long drives, and everyday life, and somehow making it all feel easy. What followed were countless coffee conversations, early mornings, long afternoons, and quiet moments where time seemed to slow down. Those conversations became the foundation of everything: laughter, honesty, dreams, and the kind of understanding that only grows when two people truly listen to one another. Things got serious pretty quickly, in the best way. What we found in each other was something we hadn’t felt in a long time: peace, happiness, and a deep sense of home. Somewhere between multiple trips to Florida, New Jersey, and the Dominican Republic, we realized we weren’t just dating, we were building something real. Each trip came with laughter, long conversations, and memories that made the distance feel smaller every time. One of the most meaningful moments for both of us was meeting each other’s kids, but even more special was watching them grow together. They truly treat each other like siblings, and if you didn’t know our story, you’d never guess they weren’t. In June 2024, Jeff joined Ornella in Colombia for a family wedding, where he met her family, experienced her culture, and learned more about her roots — a trip that brought everything full circle and made our future feel even more real. After countless miles, long drives, coffee dates and so much time spent together, we decided to move in together in June 2025. Blending our families and sharing everyday life has honestly been the best time. It strengthened our bond and made taking the next step feel natural and easy. That next step came on Christmas 2025, when Jeff asked Ornella to marry him. In that moment, everything felt calm, clear, and certain. We had never known this kind of love, the kind that feels peaceful, steady, and unmistakably like home. Now, as we look toward forever, we’re filled with gratitude for the journey that brought us here and for the family we’ve built together. Both of our families have welcomed each other with open arms, and their love and excitement mean more to us than words can say. We can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives side by side, loving each other, raising our kids, traveling often, and choosing one another every single day.
