Proposal

Jeff and I visited Spain with my parents a year ago and while in Cordoba, we were walking to our hotel and my mom pulls me aside and asks, "Do you think Jeff will pop the question on this trip?" I had already asked Jeff if he was going to on the trip- he laughed saying "It would have been very romantic to be engaged in Spain, but unfortunately I haven't found the right ring yet." I totally believed him! I've watched him tumble with decisions like picking out a pair of pants for hours! I decided to just put it out of my mind and to be patient, and just hope it would happen sooner rather than later. That night, before I knew it, Jeff knelt down on his knee and (attempted) to ask my hand in marriage, saying "Nicole, will you---" "YES!!" I screamed. I had waited so long to finally be engaged to my best friend, my soulmate. I cracked like an egg. -Nicole Peter Brennan was driving me crazy. I watched him go through each airport security check point with increasing anxiety. I had asked him to hold onto the ring, which was in his cargo pant pocket that happened to be completely unzipped and he was without a care in the world- I mean we were on vacation after all. I had found the perfect ring for her- absolutely perfect- and had hid it for weeks. Now the time finally came, and I was nervous. Not nervous to propose- nervous to mess it all up! All I wanted to do was put it on her hand. She is the love of my life, and it had to be Spain. After waiting until the trip was almost over, and dodging all the inquiries, I was so excited that I basically fell on one knee before her. When she said yes, it was and still remains the happiest moment of my life. -Jeff
