Our love story is a little unconventional… just like us. On our very first date, after watching Melanie enthusiastically take down an entire cheese platter (no regrets), Jeff decided we should probably just be friends. Melanie, naturally, chose to ignore that completely and kept planning more dates anyway. Somewhere along the way, what started as an unexpected beginning turned into something undeniable—and we both realized we were meant to build a life together. What followed has been a journey full of growth, challenges, and so much love. One of our biggest plot twists came early on. After Melanie’s cancer diagnosis in January 2020, we made the decision to get married quickly, mostly for practical reasons. Within a week, we found ourselves in a courthouse, saying “I do” in a moment that, while simple, became one of the most meaningful memories we share. Life didn’t slow down after that—the world shifted, time flew, and here we are six years later, stronger and more connected than ever. We’ve dreamed for a long time about celebrating our marriage in a way that truly reflects us. Now, the timing finally feels right.
