Jo and Jeffrey met on Hinge, expecting a good conversation and quickly realizing there was more in common than expected. From shared Portland roots, dads with similar paths in music and growing up playing woodwind instruments, to siblings whose families grew through adoption in Africa and a shared love of the outdoors, the overlaps kept stacking up. Add shared values, a love for Jesus, and a mutual appreciation for honesty and humor, and it started to feel like a pretty natural blend. They began dating in March 2024 and took a detour later that year, making the difficult decision to part ways in October. But God wasn’t done with their story. With time and growth doing what they often do best, the two found their way back to each other on a serendipitous day in January 2025—this time with more clarity, wisdom, and intention. Along the way, Jo has learned to appreciate good whiskey, Jeffrey has embraced the Enneagram, and together they’ve bonded over the outdoors, live music, and Jeffrey’s home-roasted coffee. Through it all, their faith has remained central—trusting God’s timing, practicing grace, and choosing love with intention. In September 2025, Jeffrey proposed—and Jo said yes, grateful for the journey that brought them here. Today, they’re building a life that includes Jo’s two boys at the center of it. Jeffrey is moving up from Fullerton, and together they’re settling into a new home that keeps the boys rooted in their Temple City school community. They’re excited to host, to learn, and to take on the joys and challenges of blended family life with humility, patience, and hope—deeply grateful for the supportive relationship they share with Eddie and for the community surrounding them as they step into this next chapter.
