It was a cool day in November 2016 when Jeff walked into Diva Dance Studio for a Salsa lesson. He was headed to Havana to experience Cuban culture, so Salsa lessons felt apropos. Little did he know, that day would change his life. As if by divine design (Thank you, Diane N.!), Gina was the volunteer dance partner that Diva found for this dance newbie. It goes without saying, Jeff did not expect the vision of loveliness and grace that awaited him as he walked into the studio. All nerves and no grace, Jeff finished the lesson, wondering how he got so lucky to be paired with such a goddess. It was obviously a clever marketing ploy because he promptly signed up for a 12-lesson package! And while he met and danced with other talented volunteers, Gina was the partner who dominated his imagination. After finishing his lessons and taking a successful trip to Cuba, it took over a year for him to contact Gina outside of the studio. Before they knew it, they were back at the studio planning and executing dances and exploring their newfound friendship. It didn't take long for them to realize, this partnership was unexpected and unique, one that was healing and loving and powerful. Not only had they found their partner on the dance floor but they had found their partner in life. And they've been dancing ever since!
