We matched on Tinder in late October 2019 — just two people swiping through life, not expecting much beyond some awkward small talk and maybe a good cup of coffee. Our first date landed on October 27th — a date that holds deep meaning, as it marked the two-year anniversary of Erica’s brother Steven’s passing. The weather was miserable, the rain was relentless, and honestly, canceling crossed our minds more than once. But something (or someone) nudged us to show up. We met at a Starbucks on Old York Road. What we thought might be a quick coffee turned into hours of conversation — the kind of talking and laughing where time disappears and you forget the rest of the world exists… until you realize your legs have gone numb from sitting too long. We talked about life, loss, hopes, sarcasm, music, and all the random things in between. When it was finally time to part, there was no kiss — just a really great goodbye and a planned second date set for November 3rd. That rainy day changed everything. Since then, we've built a life rooted in humor, honesty, and love. We've navigated everything from hospital visits and job changes to big dreams and tiny frustrations (like Leo destroying my curtains for fun). Jeff is Erica’s calm in the storm, and Erica is Jeff’s daily dose of adventure. We push each other, support each other, and occasionally annoy each other — but always with love and a shared snack within reach. Our love isn’t flashy or over-the-top. It’s real, grounded, and filled with inside jokes, deep belly laughs, quiet support, and moments where we look at each other and just know: this is it. Now, as we step into this next chapter — marriage — we’re grateful for every twist, turn, and rain-soaked day that brought us here. We’re even more grateful to share it with all of you. Whether you’re with us in person or sending love from afar, thank you for being part of our story. We wouldn’t be here without the people who’ve cheered us on, held us up, and reminded us of the beauty in showing up — rain or shine. 💛 Erica & Jeff
