Make sure you have the right car/tires, time for the drive to trailhead, sunscreen, bug spray, tons of water and maps downloaded as there will likely be no service. A couple of our favorites: EASY •• Ponderosa State Park loop (Lily Marsh to Huckleberry to Ridgeline trail). Don’t forget to drive up to Osprey Point for a beautiful 360 view! 3 miles; 100’ elevation gain. EASY •• Goose Creek Falls - 3 miles. Out and back trail. 685’ elevation gain in second half of hike. EASY •• Upper Hazard Lake - 5.1 miles. Out and back. 577’ elevation gain. MODERATE •• Lava Lakes - 5-6 miles round trip. 800’ elevation gain. DIFFICULT •• Boulder Lake to Louie Lake loop. 7 mile loop. 1600’ elevation gain. We recommend going clock-wise. DIFFICULT •• Box Lake - 7.1 miles. Out and back. 2300’ elevation gain. Our favorite way to end a hard hike is at My Father’s Place for a Mile High Milkshake!

One of our favorite rides is the entire circumference of the lake - not for the faint at heart! ~20 miles with some elevation changes.
Enjoy the sandy beach on the North end of Payette Lake. Will require driving and cash payment for state park.
