Maid of Honor
Elaine and I have known each other since elementary school. Both of our moms worked in the school system, so we were always known as Mrs. Finch’s daughter and Mrs. Benedict’s daughter. Something I think were able to bond over and laugh about later. We became close in high school when I whimsically joined the swim team my sophomore year. Elaine and I became fast friends always goofing off at practice and meets. We have stayed friends all through college and now into our adult lives. She is someone who has always been there for me and will continue to be a forever friend!

When I first met Elaine and Jeff I instantly knew we would be great friends, sometimes you can just tell when you’ve met people that you’ll be friends with forever and I know that’s the case with them. Our friendships have grown so much in the past year and I’m truly grateful for both of them. I always know I can go to either of them with anything and they will be there to help and support me no matter what the situation is and it’s truly amazing. It’s hard to find people in life that you instantly vibe with, but they have made it so easy for me to be myself and just have fun. I’m lucky they put up with my annoying ass and love me for who I am. I will forever be grateful for our friendships. I wish them a lifetime of happiness and love, no matter what life throws at them.

How we met is a pretty good story. Do you remember the alien invasion of 2012? Oh never mind, it’s not important. But you must know Elaine is an alien. Let me explain though, she's was one of the friendly aliens that was assigned to me so she could teach me basic social skills like how human beings interact with each other in public. Who am I kidding we met at work!

Elaine and I met through work. Even though we have known each other a short while , our friendship has grown quickly . In the short time I have known her , we have shared many laughs. Not just the chuckle kind of laugh , but the ones that make you barely breathe and laugh so hard you cry . Elaine is one of those friends that you can laugh with , but also talk life with . She’s the kind of friend that everyone needs in their life . I’m so blessed to know her and be her friend , and also so excited to stand by her on her big day !
Best Man
I met Jeff Slaughter in high school. Way back in 2008. We were both trumpet players for Middletown Youth Symphony. I remember him being a bit shy but that didn’t last long. We would cause a bit of trouble due to the many measure of rest. This didn’t change for a number of years. We both decided to go to Wright State for music education where we became even closer. Many late nights and a ton of shenanigans led to thousands of inside jokes, mostly from Game Grumps. A few years in and he meets Elaine and instantly I knew this was going to be a lasting relationship. She was just as goofy and outgoing as Jeff, and a little more like able. I’m very proud to call them my friends and cannot wait for this Slaughter Wedding.

Jeff was a fellow member of the trumpet studio in the department of music. I remember well our first few interactions, Jeff was notorious for entering studio events with a large horse headed mask on. Jeff’s outgoing personality was particularly admirable. Elaine and I lived in the same dorm our first year at Wright State - she was introduced to me by my roommate and we quickly became friends. Elaine introduced me to many of her friends she made and I felt much closer to the community because of her. I can always count on Elaine to laugh and smile at any joke I tell, even the ones that aren’t funny! It is very special for me to see Elaine and Jeff commit a lifetime of love to one another: I feel honored to be a part of their special day. Congrats you guys!

I met Jeff in 2012, the year I started my degree at Wright State. Although I know I was shy at first, hanging out in the CAC green room is when I really started to get to know him. Jeff has always been someone I have looked up to in both talent and outright goofiness. Enter a great friendship consisting of trips for food, coffee, late nights at the spot, trying to lose our voices during basketball games, and goofing off backstage at Carnegie Hall. Jeff will always be one of my best buds. I am both honored and thrilled to be a part of Jeff and Elaine's wedding!
