Jeff was friends with the husband, Danielle was friends with the wife. They were attending a "Friendsgiving" as we call it. As the drinks were consumed, Danielle told Jeff she wouldn't date him since he didn't have a car. Jeff thought to himself, I haven't asked you on a date, woman. Jeff got a car that week. We dated on and off for less than a year. TEN years later, Jeff popped up on Danielle's "people you might know" page on FB. She messaged him and they've been together ever since.

I had known for quite sometime I wanted to be married Danielle. And a proposal in Europe seemed perfect. But where? when? how? I knew Florence, our final stop, would be ideal. Of course that was two weeks of waiting, wondering, & hoping. It was hard to wait till the end of the trip. I was a bit of a nervous guy, and, more than once, I almost broke down and asked at some random time. We only had 2 days left so I knew, that night was the night. We went out for a nice romantic dinner. I had the ring with me, but I had a plan. When we got back to our place, I ran upstairs to the balcony overlooking Florence, called to Danielle, “hey hurry you got to see this." Trying to dig the ring out and get to one knee, I heard her footsteps, and thought - maybe I shouldn’t have said hurry. As she stepped through the 500 year old balcony door to the lights of Florence, my knee touched the ground and the open ring box was lifted and presented to my hopefully bride to be. Will you marry me? Yes.
