We're Getting Married!

We are thrilled to be getting married in April, 2025! Since the beginning of the "wedding talks", we have both desired a very small ceremony with just us, God, immediate family, and our wedding party. However, we still did not want to miss the opportunity to celebrate with everyone that is wanting to come celebrate our special day with us. We will plan to have our small, private ceremony in Wichita in the morning, followed by the reception in the afternoon which will include everyone. The reception will be held at City Life Church in downtown Wichita, please see "schedule" section for more details. The casual, fun evening will be filled with dining, drinking, and dancing. We appreciate you and how you have played a special role in either or both of our lives, and we hope you are able to come join us in celebrating our special day. Love, Jeff and Clara

Jeff and Clara first met in June of 2022 in Nils Hakansson's driveway in Wichita, KS. They both had recently started working for Nils part-time while in PT school and due to a miscommunication, they both had shown up to cover the same shift that evening. Jeff's first romantic words to Clara were not "wow you're beautiful" or "do you want to get married?", they were "does your car always make those noises?" (Her car does in fact always make those noises). Fast forward a couple of months later to the 1st day of classes for the fall semester... Clara walked into her human anatomy lab as part of her first year of PT school and to her surprise, there was that boy again. As a second-year PT school student, Jeff was working as a teaching assistant in the human anatomy lab for the first-year PT students (Clara and her classmates). Suddenly, Anatomy became Clara's favorite class. She even made sure to wear her "nice scrubs" on the days Jeff was working in the lab. One day, Clara had finally built up the courage to ask Jeff a question during lab, however, she would accidentally splash preservative fluid all over Jeff when he came over to help. She assumed he would never talk to her again. Thankfully, a week later they struck up a conversation in lab over their mutual involvement in their churches and their passions for music. Both of them unaware, their mutual friend and employer Nils had also been doing some discrete match-making behind the scenes. After texting back and forth for some time, they went on their first date in the end of September for a night of minigolf and ice cream. They went on 4 dates in the span of 9 days and that is all they needed to know they wanted to begin dating. You could say they were both very interested in each other. On October 11th, 2022, Jeff asked Clara to be his girlfriend while they were on a date at The Keeper of the Plains, she said "YES!" while doing a little happy dance. It didn't take the two very long to realize "this was THE one". On May 10th, 2024, Jeff proposed to Clara at the Great Plains Nature Center in Wichita and Clara was once again ecstatic to say "YES!" Clara and Jeff are now excited to embark on this new journey of marriage and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
