We have existed in each other’s worlds for longer than we realized. She worked at a preschool in Cary, while I worked at the Cary Family YMCA right across the street. She worked at WakeMed Raleigh as a Surgical Tech in the OR, while I worked at WakeMed Raleigh discharging moms and newborns for the Mother/Baby wing. We met one night at a party for a friend of hers, and while I don’t remember all the details, she remembers me for standing up to a rude waiter on her behalf! “Who is this chivalrous stud?” she thought! Over the next two years, we would run into each other at Cary Church of God, at Christmas parades, and at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Apex where I worked, and she was coming in to buy supplies to fix up her townhouse to sell. She was trying to chat me up, and I was oblivious... until she told me she was moving to Greensboro to study nursing. Friends had encouraged me to take a chance on asking someone out if I was interested, and I thought she was out of the picture, but I told God, that if she came back to the store, I’d ask her out. Well, she showed back up. I walked around with her, helping her find the part to a door she needed, and as we walked out to her car, I did what any smooth operator would do. I told her about an awesome sermon I heard, and asked her if I could stay in touch. Then, out of nowhere, I asked her to a Holly Springs Salamander game the next day. Thankfully, she said yes! Two people, single for such a long time, have taken the good and the bad, and everything that God has blessed us with, and realized that we make a pretty darn good team! We pray to grow closer and closer to God first, and then each other second, letting His love guide us every step of the way! So, on Friday, December 14th, come join us in the next season of this adventure in life!
