Billie Christiansen
Bride
Billie was born in Tomah, Wisconsin and grew up in the Tomah area. She attended college at the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. She’s lived in the Milwaukee area for about 15 years working at various investment firms. Billie has two children Tyson and Ava. Fun fact: Billie studied in Scotland in college. Ironically, she was traveling through Europe while Doug was there as well.
Jeff Christiansen
Groom
Jeff grew up in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He attended Union College in upstate New York. Jeff started ice skating at the age of three and played hockey on the Union College team. He lived in Boston for three years after graduating. Jeff moved back to the Milwaukee area about 6 years ago. Fun fact: Jeff is owner, general manager and a player for a men’s softball team.
Angie Straub
Matron of Honor
Angie grew up in Baraboo, Wisconsin and attended The University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. Billie met Angie during their second semester and have been besties ever since. Angie works with the McFarland school district. She resides in McFarland, Wisconsin with her husband Spencer and daughter Kara. Fun fact: Angie is a Certified Reiki Master.
Doug Christiansen
Best Man
Doug is brother of the groom and hails from the village of Elm Grove, Wisconsin. He went to Union College, Jeff later following in his footsteps, in upstate New York. He then played professional hockey until 2010, in both North America and Europe. Doug continues to coach professionally in Indianapolis (Chicago Blackhawks organization) where he lives with his wife Meghan and their children Maeve and Connor. Fun Fact: Pushed Jeff onto a cactus in Texas when they were younger.
Meghan Christiansen
Matron of Honor
Jeff's sister-in-law and wife of his Best Man, Doug Christiansen. She was born and raised on Long Island. Meghan attended Yale University and was on the basketball team during her time there. She lived in Belfast for a number of years before moving back to the States in 2014. She now lives in Indiana with her husband Doug and their children Maeve and Connor. Fun Fact: Meghan met Doug when they were both working in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is also where they wed.
Leif Bergquist
Groomsman
Leif grew up in Brookfield, Wisconsin and is larger than life. Jeff and Leif met playing little league baseball in their youth. He went to the University of Wisconsin where he rowed crew his freshman year. He now lives in Menomonee Falls with his wife Ashley, daughter Eden, son Calvin and dog Penny. Fun Fact: Leif is strong enough to throw a moped.
Becky Rettenmund
Bridesmaid
Becky grew up in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Becky and Billie met in their second semester of college during their time at the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse. They rushed Alpha Phi together and were roommates at one point in college. Becky now lives near Madison with her husband Brett and their four children. Fun fact: Becky had Billie edit all of her admission essays to get into the School of Education at the UW-LaCrosse (most people don't get in on their first attempt) - but she did!
Chris Riemer
Groomsman
Chris is from the same neighborhood as Jeff and have known each other from the time Jeff was born. He went to college at the University of Minnesota and got his MBA from Purdue which landed him his dream job at Audi. Chris currently resides in Washington, DC with his wife Gina and their sons Andersen and Wyatt. Fun Fact: Chris was once cut off from beverages when younger by Keith (Jeff’s father). The beverage was Mountain Dew.
Lisa Mumper
Bridesmaid
Lisa is a native of Milwaukee. She went to college at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, then got her MBA from Alverno College. She enjoys time in northern Wisconsin at her family’s summer home. Lisa works at the same company as the bride and the groom and is a steadfast friend to both. She lives in the Greenfield, Wisconsin with her two daughters Vanessa and Natalie. Fun fact: Lisa has a case of Wanderlust and wants to do "all the things."
Brian Bryson
Groomsman
Brian was born and raised in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He was bound for the NBA, but the growth spurt never came. Brian went to college at Maryland and currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife Liz and their daughter Paige. Fun Fact: Many years ago, Brian lost his shoe in the mud of the foundation of the Christiansen’s neighbors new house.
Amy Schultz
Bridesmaid
Amy born and raised in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Any attended the University of Wisconsin at Parkside for Communications. Billie met Amy when Billie's daughter Ava attended the same private school Amy's children attended. They became friends the first night they met. Amy was a well known radio DJ and had her own radio show. She also worked on various morning shows in Milwaukee. She now works for a school district and focuses on special needs children. Amy currently lives in the Brookfield, Wisconsin with her husband Brian. They have three children, Matthew, Brianna and her stepson Justin. Fun fact: Growing up, Amy wanted to be a trapeze artist...even though she’s afraid of heights.
Justin Pallos
Groomsman
Justin is originally from upstate New York. Jeff and Justin met in college and were hockey teammates. He had the pleasure of being Jeff’s roommate in Boston for three years after college. Justin now resides in Massachusetts with his wife Kristina and their son Leo. Fun Fact: Justin enjoys doing things on Sundays. (Which did not go over well with Jeff when they lived together.)
Ava Baker
Bridesmaid
Ava is Billie’s daughter. She was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin and is 12 years old. She’ll be a 7th grader in the Fall. Ava was very happy when she first found out the news that Jeff and her mom would marry. One of her first questions was, “Can I be a flower girl and a bridesmaid?” She loves animals, playing volleyball and is a self-proclaimed bookworm. Fun fact: Ava's date of birth is 09.09.09, so her player number is always 9.
Richard Sillery
Groomsman
Richard is from the great state of Maryland and, just like Justin, met Jeff at the illustrious Union College. He played one year of professional hockey as a goalie (if you can call the FHL professional) but still was paid to play. He currently lives in Washington, DC with his wife Dom and son Jack. Fun Fact: Richard once got benched at a hockey practice, didn’t know that was possible.
Jason Walters
Usher
Jason Walters (Usher) – Jason is from Renfrew, Ontario and met Jeff at Union College. He left Union as the school’s all-time leading scorer and played professional hockey after his college career in countries such as Sweden, Denmark and Italy. Jason currently lives in Ontario with his wife Lauren and his daughter Cora. Fun Fact: Jason was gifted a live bird for Secret Santa in college due to his affinity for whistling.
Bradlee Jacobs
Usher
Brad went to High School with Jeff and is from Mequon, Wisconsin. He went to college at Depauw University. Brad played college football, mainly on the punt block team that Jeff witnessed. He currently resides in St. Louis with his wife Sarah and their twins, Teddy and Rylee. Fun Fact: Jeff might have slept at Brad’s house more in high school than his own house.
John Simpson
Usher
John grew up in Massachusetts and met Jeff through hockey at Union College. After graduating, he lived in Boston with Jeff for one glorious year and now works for CVS. John currently lives in Norwood, MA with his better half, Erin, and daughter Josie. Fun Fact: John was the only recruit that Jeff was allowed to host for an official visit at Union (feel free to ask either of us for the story).
Tyson Baker
Usher
Tyson is Billie’s son. He was born in Brookfield, Wisconsin and is 15 years old. Tyson will be a sophomore in high school in the fall of 2022. He is busy with baseball year-round. He’s played on a select team for the last several years. Tyson also played on the high school Junior Varsity team as well. Other than baseball, he enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking and swimming. Fun fact: Since the start of Covid in March of 2020, he’s grown a foot taller and he’s now over 6’2” tall.
