We met on an online dating app called, Coffee Meets Bagel. We both swiped right on each others pictures and were matched. We started communicating via text and had our first date a week later on February 27th at The Tasting Room. The rest is history.
June is probably one of the busiest months of the year for the Maldonado Family. Jeff had been gone for two weeks in Saudi for work and returned at the end of the month. The week he returned from his travels he secretly had lunch with my parents to ask for my hand in marriage. The following Saturday Jeff mentioned we should go out to dinner. We hadn't gone out since he had returned from Saudi and were long overdue. Plus, the week prior to the engagement had been CRAZY (my dad's birthday, my mom's birthday, my baby nephew was born--told ya', JUNE IS CRAZY). I didn't even have time to think about what this dinner could potentially be. On our way to the restaurant he mentioned that we were early for the reservation and he wanted to swing by and look at Rothko Chapel, a small chapel with art inside. He stopped at the small park where the chapel was located and we walked over to it. We found that the chapel was closed, but he wanted to walk around anyway. That's weird, but I go along with it. We walk around and I start thinking, "Wait, could this be it? Is he going to do it tonight?" We begin to walk around and go in a circle and I convinced myself it wasn't going to happen. We come full circle and I begin to walk back to the car. Jeff says, "Why are you walking away from me?" When I turn around to respond, he was on one knee with a box. The box!
