Jeff and Kristin met previously while working at neighboring restaurants in Northville, MI while Kristin was still in undergrad. Kristin would come over to Jeff's bar after work and they developed a close friendship. It took a few months to realize the true connection they had but from then on, they were inseparable. After graduation, Kristin wanted to fulfill her lifelong dream of moving to California. Although tough to leave Jeff, Kristin knew that she would always regret it if she didn't. The two ultimately broke up due to the long distance and lost touch with each other. Flash forward 8 years, Jeff reconnected with Kristin by wishing her a Happy Birthday. The next day they went to a concert and the rest is history.

Kristin and Jeff went camping at Kristin's favorite place in the world, Holland, MI. This is a place that Kristin grew up visiting with her family every summer and holds a special place in her heart. On July 14th, they decided to head to Lake Michigan to watch the sunset. As the sun was setting, Kristin made the reference that "if you were to propose, this would be the perfect spot to do so." Little to her knowledge, Jeff was planning on just that. He got down on one knee and asked Kristin to spend the rest of their lives together. I think you can figure out Kristin's response :)
