Kelly and Jeff met through mutual friends in San Diego in December, 2015- the year Jeff moved to California after finishing his time in the Navy. They met the night of Kelly's friend Caitlin's birthday celebration in downtown San Diego. At the local country bar, Kelly asked if anyone knew how to two-step and Jeff replied, "Well I'm from Texas!" Everything else was history!
