finally!

Chicago - Edgewater - Tuesday February 26, 2013. Jeff and Daniel decided to meet up for a first date. There was so much to discuss at the dinner table - Snatch Game had just aired (if you don’t watch Rupaul’s Drag Race/RPDR, you may want to skip ahead and you might want to get caught up before the wedding). They agreed that Jinkx’s Little Edie slayed, but they spent even more time trying to do their best Alaska as Lady Bunny impression (and haven’t stopped since). The conversation turned towards John Waters. Whoa, that was close - if Daniel hadn’t just watched Female Trouble earlier that week, it might’ve been curtains for him! While conversation continued over palak paneer, mango lassis and garlic naan, they quickly realized they had just begun to scratch the surface of their love. After their first date, they took their time getting to know each other. Jeff joined Windy City Performing Arts to get back to performing - it didn’t hurt that he could stalk Daniel on the regular. Daniel started coming to Jeff’s studio apartment to watch RPDR with his friends - it didn’t hurt that the limited space meant he could sit closer to Jeff. Soon enough, they were crafting fascinators together to wear at their joint debut choir concert, which in another striking coincidence was all about gay marriage. And finally, on June 13, 2013, they made it official over tapas and limoncello before seeing a live show of the same RPDR5 girls that they bonded over. And on June 17, 2023 - 10 years, 2 cats, 4 apartments, 17 or 18 seasons of Drag Race, and 24-28 international seasons of Drag Race (TBA) - it’s about damn time.
