Jeff and Annie met by chance on an online dating app called OK Cupid. After many failed dates and blasé encounters, the two had nearly given up when one day Annie, while scrolling through her daily suggestions, came across Jeff's profile. He seemed kind and normal (thank God!) with a good sense of humor and head on his shoulders, and, though California-bred, was a HUGE Philadelphia Eagles fan. Annie found this last part oddly intriguing and so, swiped right... Jeff, who had already seen Annie's profile earlier in the day, was notified that he had matched with Annie. Huzzah! Now... what to say?!? He spent the better part of three days typing out and then deleting his opener. Hours and paragraphic attempts later, he begrudgingly opened with the following: "Hi, Annie. I saw that we have some things in common and would love to chat sometime." Surely, this wasn't going to work and so he resigned to the certainty that he would never hear from this girl again. But, oh was he wrong! A couple weeks went by as the two chatted on the app then by text. They talked about their jobs and hobbies about favorite burgers in town and what brought them to Nashville -- typical, run-of-the-mill getting to know you stuff. As the days went by, Annie began to wonder why Jeff wasn't asking her out and if she had just wasted her time on yet another Nashville boy who wanted to "hang out" but never put word to action. Concerned by this, she told him rather straightforwardly that they "should meet up sometime." A week later, they had their first date. The rest is his(and her)story...
