One of the main foundations of our relationship is that we both work daily to preserve our love. We look at one another and ask, 'What can I do for you today?' That has been our MO since week one. After only a few days of talking online and over the phone, we had shared many of our likes, dislikes, and desires; as one would expect. Four days in, and Libby decided it was time for lunch. And, what do you think was on the desired menu? Pizza, of course. Libby texted Jed and told him that she'd text him again soon and that she was about to go pick up some pizza. Jed quickly responded, 'No! Don't do that.' 'Why not,' Libby inquired. 'Well, I ordered pizza for you to be delivered to your office. I hope that isn't weird,' he replied. Libby nearly cried. She sat down in her office chair, and looked at her phone for a few moments. Never had a man listened so intently to her, and seemingly read her mind. Never had a man gone out of his way to do something romantic like this for her. 'It isn't weird. Buying me pizza means you've been listening to me,' she responded carefully. The pizza came, she ate it all with contentment and a beaming smile. Then, he asked her if he could please see her that same night for dinner. He couldn't hold in his excitement. He needed to see her. She agreed. Dinner turned into seeing each other several times per week; and then only about 8 weeks in, he told her he had a job offer in another state. He said he wouldn't take it, because he didn't want to leave her behind. He wanted her. He wasn't willing to let go. He turned down a better paying job, so they wouldn't have to be apart. In three more months they would go through him nearly having a burst appendix, a teen with a broken leg, and buying a new home to share. Now, almost two years in, after hiking trips, traveling the states to sate Jed's love of Football, grieving the losses of loved ones, and wrangling teens/preteens; it’s time for Forever. You had me at Pizza.
