Our Story

We first met as colleagues at Veranda Catering Services. Jecil worked as an on-call employee, while Rhannie served as a manager. We saw each other almost every day at work — yet we were simply two people passing by, with no deeper connection at the time. Then one day, everything changed. Jecil went to Monastery Configuration in San Jose, Malaybalay, with her siblings. She went there to pray — to heal a broken heart and seek God’s direction. Unexpectedly, Rhannie was also there on an errand. When our eyes met, there was a quiet spark — something gentle but undeniable. It felt like God was slowly redirecting our paths. Later, we discovered we were feeling the same thing. Two broken hearts, being restored by grace, finding comfort in the same place at the same time. After that day, our conversations grew longer. Our laughter became easier. What started as simple friendship slowly turned into something deeper. Then life took another turn. Jecil left for the United States to pursue her career, leaving Rhannie in the Philippines. When she arrived in the U.S., Rhannie began courting her intentionally and sincerely — showing up every day through video calls, making her feel valued, pursued, and loved despite the distance. After two months of serious courtship, Rhannie asked permission from her parents and siblings to enter into a relationship with her. That gesture meant everything. As a man who honors family, he earned not only her yes — but their trust and blessing as well. And so, she said yes to becoming his girlfriend. But even as boyfriend and girlfriend, our love story was tested by distance. Long-distance was never easy for us. It crumpled our hearts at times. There were lonely nights, missed celebrations, time differences, misunderstandings, and moments when all we had were screens and prayers. Yet through every hardship, we chose each other. We stayed. We fought for us. We held on to God. For two years, we loved each other across miles and oceans. The distance tried to weaken us, but instead, it strengthened our faith, patience, and commitment. After two long years in the U.S., Jecil finally found the courage to come home — to be with her family, and to be home with the man who never stopped choosing her. Today, we stand grateful — for the struggles that shaped us, for our families who supported us, and for the God who turned two broken hearts into one whole love story. As we begin our forever, we would be honored to have you witness the love God has written for us.
