Flying into TVC

TVC (Traverse City) is the nearest commercial airport and the easiest to fly into. If you want to fly into Detroit (DTW) or Chicago (ORD) expect to drive 4-5 hours.

Northport

The smallest town, closest to the venue. This is our nearest town when we stay in Leelanau. There is an adorable doughnut shop, a chill beer garden, and a beautiful marina for morning coffee walks. Northport only has about 20 hotel rooms and a few rental homes in the town so move quickly to stay in Northport.

Leland

Leland is another nearby small town, and possibly the most adorable town anywhere. One grocery story (Leland Mercantile, or “The Merc”), Moomer’s Ice Cream, and the Cheese Shanty, our favorite sandwich in the peninsula. Leland has about 60 hotel rooms in total across 3 locations. The Falling Water Lodge and Leland Lodge are both “in town” and walkable.

Traverse City

Traverse City is a much bigger city, beautiful, and walkable with great restaurants, hotels, and shops. Here we have arranged hotel blocks at Bayshore Resort (on the water) and Park Place (downtown). Both are larger hotels with more amenities than the smaller hotels or B&Bs. TC is farther from the venue and other towns, but both of these hotels will likely have shuttle services to the venue. We’re workin’ on it.

House Or Rental

Renting Private Homes

In addition to hotels, there are many private cottages, cabins, and lake houses for rent all around the peninsula. This is a great way to get a unique experience and spend quality time with friends, old and new. Some are on Airbnb, but licenses are restricted, so there are also independent rental sites like LVRRentals.com. For groups of guests who are already friends, this is a great option. We’ll tap some of you specifically to be House Helpers to coordinate a rental for your crew.
