We met online, and didn't think anything of it. We were attracted to each other, but was it worth the risk meeting in person? We vetted each other the best we could with selfies, lol. After a couple of weeks of texting and flirting, we agreed to meet at the top of the Penn Station escalators on June 23rd. As soon as we saw each other, a huge smile grew on both of our faces. It was as if we had known each other already, and it was clear we both anticipated this date. As nervous as we both were, we had a drink at the Pennsy, and got to know each other a little. Then walked over to a bookstore to see if Mark could find The Three Musketeers. After that we walked all the way to the piers, and had lunch on the barge at The Frying Pan. We sat in the sun, ordered some beers, talked some more and bonded over being unimpressed by the hummus. Finally we walked to and on The Highline, and found ourselves a nice seat on some benches that were under some trees that provided us enough shade. We people-watched, enjoyed the breeze, nervously stared at each other, and then we had our first kiss. On a first date, but to be fair it's because we had multiple dates in one day! We eventually left as it was getting dark, and decided on one last cup of coffee and and sadly, some terrible tiramisu. We walked back to Penn Station, and bid our goodbyes. The rest, as they say, is history.
