So it all started back in 2016, sophomore year of high school. We were in the same language arts class and were assigned to read each other's essays. From there, we became friends. In 2017, our junior year of high school, I (Britney) built the courage to tell Jean that I liked him...But I chickened out. Haha. Jean nagged at me to tell him what had been on my mind. So I ended up telling him over text. Classy. Anways, he confessed that he felt the same (I already knew) and a few days later, we became boyfriend and girlfriend. We dated for about 6 months until we broke up, but we left on good terms. Over the next 5 years, we did not talk to each other, we had the time to grow and mature as well as learn from the life lessons that came our way. Then, as fate would have it, it brought us back to each other. Showing us that we were always meant to be. In 2023, I had the thought of reaching out to Jean to see how he had been doing, but I stopped myself. A day or two later, while on my lunch break at work, I checked my phone and saw that I had a message on Instagram. It was Jean. With his opening message being "Hey what's up, you crossed my mind... just seeing how you've been." To say I was stunned is an understatement. We began talking again and soon after became boyfriend and girlfriend. And here we are. We were always meant to be. Todo empezó en 2016, en segundo año de secundaria. Estábamos en la misma clase de lengua y literatura y nos asignaron leer los ensayos de cada uno. A partir de ahí nos hicimos amigos. En 2017, nuestro tercer año de secundaria, yo (Britney) me armé de valor para decirle a Jean que me gustaba... Pero no me atreví. Jaja. Jean me insistió para que le dijera lo que había estado pensando. Así que terminé contándoselo por mensaje de texto. De todos modos, me confesó que sentía lo mismo (yo ya lo sabía) y a los pocos días nos convertimos en novios. Salimos durante unos 6 meses hasta que rompimos, pero nos fuimos en buenos términos. Durante los siguientes 5 años, no nos hablamos, tuvimos tiempo para crecer y madurar, así como para aprender de las lecciones de vida que se nos presentaron. Luego, según quiso el destino, nos reencontramos el uno con el otro. Mostrándonos que siempre estuvimos destinados a serlo. En 2023, pensé en mandarle un mensaje a Jean para ver cómo estaba, pero me detuve. Uno o dos días después, mientras estaba a la hora del almuerzo en el trabajo, revisé mi teléfono y vi que tenía un mensaje en Instagram. Era Jean. Su mensaje decía: "Oye, ¿qué pasa? Me pasaste por la cabeza... solo quería ver cómo estabas." Decir que me quedé atónito es quedarse corto. Empezamos a hablar de nuevo y poco después nos convertimos en novios. Y aquí estamos. Siempre estuvimos destinados a serlo.
