Alaska Bus Company operates one of Alaska’s most scenic routes between Anchorage and Homer with stops in Girdwood, Cooper Landing, and Soldotna. Northbound trips leave Homer at 8:00 am and arrive in Anchorage around 1:00 pm; southbound trips leave Anchorage at 2:00 pm and arrive in Homer around 7:00 pm, with passengers able to hop on or off anywhere along the route at any of the stops. Main stops include Anchorage’s Ted Stevens Airport (outside Alaska Airlines baggage claim), Girdwood Coast Pizza, Cooper Landing Wildman’s Store, Soldotna Starbucks/Domino’s, and Aspen Suites in Homer. Travelers heading to Seward can transfer at Cooper Landing via Wildman’s. One-way fares range from $79 for a single stop to $139 for the full Anchorage–Homer trip. The one-way fee for Anchorage to Soldotna is $119. Each passenger may bring 2 checked bags (under 50 lb each) plus a carry-on; walk-ons are allowed but reservations are recommended. Schedules are approximate and may change due to road conditions.
