Jean is from Newburyport; her parents (Martha & Tom) still live downtown. It is a beautiful New England city right on the Merrimack River. Dave and Jean visit often to enjoy the historic sites, running trails, and fresh oysters.
Yay! We’re so happy you are taking the full weekend to explore. Check out our “Things to Do” page for suggestions on how to fill your days. We highly recommend dinner / brunch reservations for Friday and Saturday - the city gets very busy in the summer! Please join us for complimentary brunch on Sunday at the Sunset Club on Plum Island.
Black tie optional! Tuxedos, dark suits with ties, and summer formal dresses are welcome. For shoes - guests will not be walking on any grass, but Newburyport does have some uneven brick sidewalks. Wear what makes you feel fancy (but still comfortable on historic streets)!
We would prefer no cell phone photography in the church out of respect for the sacrament. After the mass - the more photos the better! If you can, please take a moment after the wedding to add your pictures to this shared Google Drive so we can see them! https://photos.app.goo.gl/C1LiMMaR2r9EDDCYA
Of course!!! Please let us know your allergies and we will coordinate with the venue. As Jean has allergies herself, she is also happy to recommend spots in Newburyport that are great with dietary restrictions. Please email the bride and groom with any allergy requests or questions - helloboudreaus@gmail.com.
The ceremony will be inside the Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. The reception will take place at Willowdale Estate in Topsfield. The cocktail hour will be inside the estate; the dinner and reception will be under a permanent tent. There is a tented, paved path between the house and reception area.
Ceremony - All guests staying in downtown Newburyport will be walking distance from Immaculate Conception Church. No transportation will be provided in town. - If you are staying at the Hampton Inn in Amesbury, (1) coach bus will depart for the church at 1:30 PM. This is the only transportation we will provide to the ceremony from Amesbury, so make sure to catch it if you want a ride! Post-Ceremony - Immediately following the ceremony, buses will depart for Willowdale. The three buses have (165) seats total - we welcome all guests to hop on! End of the Night - All buses leaving Willowdale will make (2) stops: first, at the Immaculate Conception in Newburyport, second, at the Hampton Inn in Amesbury. - All buses will leave after the reception concludes at 10 PM.
Yes! We are registered at Zola - please see the “Registry” page above. Please note, Zola sources items from various websites. You may be directed to another website (i.e. Simon Pearce or Crate & Barrel) to place your order. Your presence on June 8 is the best gift - we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
So many options! We recommend the Bartlett Mall, Harborwalk, Joppa Flats, and Plum Island Beach.
Most accommodations have parking included in your reservation (see the “Where to Stay” section). If you run into any trouble, you can find information on public parking here: https://www.cityofnewburyport.com/city-clerk/pages/parking-information
Yes! Uber and Lyft rides are available (but not abundant) in Newburyport. You can also call Port Taxi at (978) 465-5107.
